While the C-46 served throughout the world during the War, a majority served in Asia. More than any other aircraft, it was responsible for maintaining the supply line over the "hump" between India and China. Complementing the Commando's spacious fuselage and doublewide cargo doors, was the power to reach 20,000 ft to clear the peaks of northern Burma.
